Depression

Depression generally manifests itself as a very strong feeling of sadness, guilt, irritability, emptiness, despair, weakness, worry or anxiety. Decreased appetite or overeating, loss of interest in activities that were once enjoyable, and difficulty concentrating are also common symptoms of depression. Depression can occur as a reaction to certain life events, symptoms of specific medical conditions, side effects of medical treatments, or it can occur for no apparent reason.

Depression can be caused by a number of factors, including persistent stress, genetic background, chemical or hormonal imbalances, chronic illness, poor nutrition, food hypersensitivity, nutritional deficiencies and even by inadequate exposure to sunlight.
