Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Hypertrophy or benign prostatic hyperplasia is the result of an increased number of prostate cells, which can lead to the formation of large nodules that compress the urethral canal and cause its partial or almost complete occlusion. This blockage can affect the normal flow of urine and lead to symptoms such as difficulty urinating, decreased urine flow, frequent urination, pain when urinating, frequent urinary tract infections, and urinary retention.
