Abdominal Pain
Abdominal pain is pain that occurs between the chest and pelvic area. Inflammations or pathological conditions affecting the organs in the abdomen can cause abdominal pain. The main organs located in the abdomen are the intestine (small and large), the appendix (part of the large intestine), the kidneys, the spleen, the stomach, the gallbladder, the liver, and the pancreas. Viral, bacterial, or parasitic infections that affect the stomach and intestine can cause significant abdominal pain. The main causes of abdominal pain besides infections are inflammation, obstruction, and intestinal disorders.
